Your wedding cloak
Ornate with sea pearls,
Your bridal wreath
Ornate with lily of the valley,

Your celebration still
You pay for with tears.

Your wedding robe
Lined with sorrow,
Your bridal wreath
Ornate with dew of tears…

Your celebration in the end
You’ll pay for: as ornament,

Your bridal veil
Pull on your wounds;
Your bridal veil
See as your shroud!

Your celebration in the end
Will turn to regret…

Your wedding dress
Let see only God;
You’re here sinful counterpart
Of your innocent being…

Your celebration in the end
You pay for with mourning…
