That Poem

The composition that’s really fussy,
Above all others is the sentimental song.
Slow, sad, sentimental song.
Now grumpy is just the thing,
To get me wondering if the sentimental song is crabbed.

I cannot help but stop and look at the cliché, in my poetry.
Does the popular poetry make you shiver?
does it?

The effort that’s really cunning,
Above all others is the early essay.
Down, down, down into the darkness of the early essay,
Gently it goes – the crafty, the slick, the clever.

Just like an interminable road, is central cantos.
Earsplitting.
Why are they so fat?
