That Song

I cannot help but stop and look at the clamorous, clear carol.
Down, down, down into the darkness of the clear carol,
Gently it goes – the noisy, the clamant, the clamorous.

A pious chant, however hard it tries,
Will always be ear-splitting.
Does the pious chant make you shiver?
does it?

Just like a chanteuse, is the Spanish singer.
“Nightingale”, said the Spanish singer,
And “nightingale” then “nightingale” again.

I saw the fat literary work of my generation destroyed,
How I mourned the philosophical poem.
Clinker.
Why is it so cacophonous?

I cannot help but stop and look at the abysmally, solemn sung.
Does the solemn sung make you shiver?
does it?

The song that’s really subdued,
Above all others is the dirty ditty.
Does the dirty ditty make you shiver?
does it?
