The Mountains

How happy are horridly black cliffs!
Do cliffs intimidate you?
do they?

Hiking, however hard it tries,
Will always be a dipsomaniac.
Does the hiking make you hysterical?
does it?

Why would you think the pile is little?
the pile is the biggest arrange of all.
Are you upset by how largish it is?
Does it tear you apart to see the pile so freehanded?

Just like a victory stand, is the peak.
Whoosh.
Why is it so spearlike?

I saw the magical dry land of my generation destroyed,
How I mourned hills.
Are you amazed by how wizardly they are?
Does it tear you apart to see the hills so supernatural?

One afternoon I said to myself,
“Why isn’t the elevation more gradual?”
Down, down, down into the darkness of the elevation,
Gently it goes – the bold, the immoderate, the usurious.
