What Keeps Up Our Lives,
by J. W. Cassandra

We cut the immenseness
Into skies , seas,
We beat stakes immensely,
And cast the soul into prison –

Then we weep for life,
Staring from the stakes,
And who yet knows word of heaven,
He is helpless: stares in awe,

Since if he destroys the fence,
If he shows the immenseness,
We beat again stakes at once:
We can’t endure blue sky,

Endless mirror of water we fear,
And this is what keeps up our lives…

Ami fenntartja létünk
~ Hungarian Version

Fölszabdaljuk a végtelent
Egekre, tengerekre;
Karókat verünk végtelen,
S börtönbe verjük a lelket –

Majd sírunk szabad létért
Karók közül bámulva,
S tehetetlen, ki még ért
Égi szót: néz ámulva,

Hisz ha kerítést lebont,
Ha megmutat végtelent;
Leverjük a karót legott:
Nem viselünk el kék eget,

Végtelen víztükröt – félünk,
S ez tartja fenn létünk…
