The Coming

You came on the night of the lights,
You came in the light of nights:

Throw your anchor in the ground!
Your roots there will be in your land.
Throw your anchor in the sky!
Your root will be its blueness.
Set your anchor on fire!
Your roots will be its fire.
Throw your anchor in the water!
Your roots will be its water.
Cast your anchor in the light!
Your root will be its light…

Swinging on luminous water,
Be the ancestor, the prime sailor!

The Leaving

Leave on the night of lights,
Leave in the light of nights!

Wing lifts from ground to sky:
Earth-wing raises you to emptiness.
Wing raises into the bluish sky:
Sky-wing, emptiness of your form.
Wing raises to flaming fire:
Your fire-wing burns with flame letters…
Wing raises from water to sky:
Water-wing flies you to emptiness.
Wing raises, light of lights:
Your luminous wing is the soul-light.

Take root with light-root!
Fly, light-wing, into emptiness!
