I think we can all agree that sometimes school wasn’t all that rosy and sometimes kids can be cruel. Envy is such a poisonous emotion.
So I wrote this for mother’s day a few years back. Its also based on the Ancient Greek myth of Persephone, the goddess of springtime, and Hades, the god of the Underworld.
I wrote this to describe a dark period in my life in regards to my mental health. Nowadays I am much better and find writing or talking about my experience a great deal of help.

This poem is an ‘Acrostic’. An acrostic is a poem (or other form of writing) in which the first letter (or syllable, or word) of each line (or paragraph, or any other recurring feature in the text) spells out a word, message or the alphabet.
In this poem, the first letter letter in each line when joined together form the word “HORSE”. And the first speaker is trying to ask the second one for a ride together.
Canticle is a hymn or chant, typically with a biblical text, forming a regular part of a church service. This is an ACROSTIC poem. First alphabet of each line joined together from a word. In this case, it is the title of the poem.
This is an alphabet poem, also known as abecedary, abcpoems, abecedarian, or abecedarius. The poems are formed by the play of words. The first alphabet of each word is in a sequence of alphabets starting from A to Z.
Since I am trying a new poetic form each time. This time it was different. A poem greeting the dawn. Aubade is traditionally a lover’s lament that the night’s passion must come to an end, when finally the lovers separate. This poem has seven quatrains. Each line is exactly nine syllables long. And each stanza has a rhyming scheme of A-A-A-A.
Obtaining intelligence is pursuing perfection. What you do with such dictates your perception, therefore aiding oneself of the lies, reticule, and fallacies presented by the people, places, and things we interact and consume daily. Be your judge. Seek your truth. Know no bounds to both and LIVE! ✌🏾
