Sci-Fi Story

J. W. Cassandra: Merész álmok

Valiant Dreams, a science fiction short story, by J. W. Cassandra. The story belongs to the anthology of the same title. It was preceded by an other story, The Boxer (Short Stories, 31. March, 2020.). Just as in the previous story, I use the terms ‘boxer’ and ‘spacer’ in the sense of ‘earthling’ and ‘alien’. In some sense, this story is the countinuation of The Boxer but, not entirely. I show in this story an alien spaceship among others. And the reader can be familair with different spaceships, extra-planets, dimensions, etc. I share here the Hungarian version, as well.

Vocation | A Poem by Rabindranath Tagore

Vocation by Rabindranath Tagore is a perfect tour into the mind of a child. This poem shows our inner-most needs. This poem is also a reminder to all the grown-ups that how these needs are curtailed by the parameters of the societal norms.

Sonnet 76 Shakespeare analysis

Sonnet 76 – Why is My Verse So Barren of New Pride by William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare in this sonnet seems a bit concerned about the fact that his style of writing isn’t up-to-date with the new style of writing. Yet he seems to have accepted the fact that it can’t be changed, as it reflects him and his true feelings.
All he can write about is his love.

Wild Geese mary oliver

Wild Geese | A Poem by Mary Oliver

“Wild Geese” is an attempt by Oliver to inspire people to be true to themselves and nature rather than run a never-ending race to be perfect for people. And that “you” are not alone with a life full of despair. There are millions, and you will definitely find someone to share it with. You just need some patience. This is also and attempts by the poet to promote human connectivity.

The Boxer, by J. W. Cassandra. This short novel, a sci-fi was written on 25/02. 2020., translated on 23/03. 2020. I share it here both in English and Hungarian. It belongs to my novel of short stories “Valiant Dreams”. In the story, I wrote about a meeting between a spacer that is alien and an earthling that is boxer. The latter has nothing to do with box-fighter or boxing. I gave a more elaborated explanation about it in the footnote in the story. This meeting is a weird one. I created a new type of such encounters in my story. This sci-fi is followed loosely by an other short story, I’ll share it here after translating it.

Fear no more the heat o’ the sun William Shakespeare

Fear no more the heat o’ the sun|A Song by William Shakespeare

This song is a very famous song from the play Cymbeline. It simply means that you need not really fear death. Death is inevitable. Each one of us, be it royalty or the common class, everyone eventually will “come to dust”. All that we do and all that we become will lose its existence one day. And we need not fear it.

Parallel Worlds, by J. W. Cassandra. This sci-fi short story is written by me yet in 2004 but, I translated it only now. I can it share in 6 pictures. I placed it in a new volume of my short stories, titled “Valiant Dreams”. I place here my short stories of topic of sci-fi. Here I raise a question on travel through dimensions by an unsusal way – and on the probable result, from an unusual aspect. I share it in English and in Hungarian, as well.

The Muddlehead by Ogden Nash

The Muddlehead | A Poem by Ogden Nash

The muddlehead is a poem about a man who remains mentally confused, a little bit insane. He has a problem making sane decisions. He wears his clothes the wrong way, speaks the weird language, creates new words, is asking for wrong favors at wrong places. He is the man who makes everyone laugh. His story is everyone’s favorite.

‘To Be in Love’ is an attempt by Gwendolyn Brooks to explain to the world, how the journey of their love story is going to be like. She beautifully explains how emotional roller-coaster this pilgrimage would possibly be for you if you truly fall in love with someone.

O Captain My Captain Walt Whitman Poem

O Captain! My Captain! | A Poem by Walt Whitman

Victories come with a price. Here the ship may have successfully sailed through all the perils towards the victory, but the Captain is no longer alive to taste it. The captain, here, in this poem, refers to the late president of USA, Abraham Lincoln. The poem is written with reference to American Civil War of 1861-65.
